ASTHMA

Asthma is a very common condition characterized by cough, wheeze, chest tightness and breathlessness. Many a times it is not diagnosed. Patients pass it off as “bronchitis” or “allergy” or “colds”. Since no precautions or treatment is taken, it progressively gets worse and can cause lung damage.
At ACAC, both adults & children with asthma are treated.

ALLERGY

Allergy is an over-sensitivity of our immune system to a variety of natural things in the environment.The patient of allergy “reacts” to certain food items, pollens, fungal spores, dust, drugs etc and the symptoms could be in the skin, nose, lungs, eyes or the gut.
At ACAC we do very detailed allergy testing to pinpoint the allergens , so that appropriate precautions can be instituted.

ALLERGIC RHINITIS

Allergic rhinitis is an allergy of the nose and sinuses. The patient has sneezing, runny nose, nasal itching, nasal blockage and sinus type of headache. It can be very troublesome.

BREATHLESSNESS

Breathlessness is a common symptom of many lung diseases and heart diseases. The real cause has to be determined. Only then any meaningful treatment can be instituted.

URTICARIA

Urticaria or hives are itchy and red rashes of the skin which are raised above the surface of the skin. Chronic Urticaria is a very troublesome condition requiring a detailed workup to uncover the cause(s).

ECZEMA

Eczema is a chronic skin allergic condition which itches and is scaly.

COUGH

Cough is the commonest symptom of respiratory diseases. Patients of long standing cough sometimes present a diagnostic challenge. At ACAC, we have a special cough clinic (on Thursdays) where such patients are scientifically evacuated to reach an exact diagnosis.

BRONCHITIS

Bronchitis is a very “lose” term generally used by patients to denote a disease of the air tubes. It could be infection, smoking or allergy related.

LUNG DISEASES

Lung diseases are one of the commonest reason for patients to seek medical help. The common lung diseases diagnosed and treated at ACAC are bronchitis, sarcoidosis, interstitial fibrosis, smoking related disorders, and occupational or environmental lung diseases to name a few.

FOOD ALLERGY

Food Allergy can manifest in the skin, eyes, nose, lungs or intestines. The symptoms of food allergy could include:
Skin: Urticaria, Atopic
Eyes: Watering, Itching
Nose: sneezing, running nose, blocked nose
Lungs: Asthma, wheeze
Intestines: pain, vomiting
At ACAC, we detect food allergy testing to pinpoint the offending food item. Avoidance is then possible.

SINUSITIS

Sinusitis is inflammation of the sinuses. It could be because of infection or allergy.

WHEEZING

Wheeze is a whistling sound that comes out from the chest when breathing occurs through obstructed or narrowed air passages. It is a very characteristic feature of asthma. It can occur in many other diseases too. Wheezing in children is very common. Not all of it is Asthma.
